Welcome to Consumers 150: The State of Canadian Consumers and Advocacy.
This exciting 2-day event in the Nation's Capital will analyze a series of Canadian consumer issues. As well, the event is designed to facilitate a discussion of how to meet present and future challenges associated with consumer advocacy in Canada.
The Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC), Option consommateurs, the Consumers Council of Canada and Union des consommateurs are pleased to organize this unique event.

NEWS: An additional event for consumer advocates entitled, Consumers150: Consumer Engagement and Outreach, will be held on Monday, 18 September 2017, from Noon until 5 p.m.
The workshop is part of an on-going research project “Mapping Consumer Information Seeking Practices,” being conducted by Professors Mary Cavanagh and Marina Pavlovic at the University of Ottawa.
The project studies consumers’ everyday information seeking practices with an aim of connecting information users with information sources by developing consumer information literacy, awareness, and empowerment.
PLEASE NOTE: the event on Monday, 18 September 2017 is FREE to attend. Participating groups will each receive a stipend to cover some of their travel expenses. The value of the stipend will depend on the number of participating groups and is likely to be around $500.
